SATELLITE LAUNCHES NEW LINE OF MID-CENTURY MODERN CABINET HARDWARE
PORTLAND, Ore. October 30th, 2008
Rejuvenation announces its new line of Atomic Age-inspired cabinet hardware which captures both the simplicity and the drama of the 1950s and '60s. This stylish new Mid-Century Modern collection evokes the era's chrome-clad automobiles and the daring lines of supersonic jets and modern architecture.
'Retro cool' hardware complements numerous design styles
Whether for restoring an all-steel kitchen, updating old wood cabinets or building something new, Rejuvenation's new cabinet hardware comes in eight retro styles that can add a sleek design sensibility to any room.
"We scoured eBay, garage sales, and our own salvage department to gather originals for this cool new collection," said Bo Sullivan, Rejuvenation senior designer and historian. "My favorite is the Tall Mushroom Knob, which looks like it ought to be on the teak drawer front of a George Nelson cabinet,"

REJUVENATION RE-LAUNCHES ATOMIC AGE WITH NEW SATELLITE LINE OF MID-CENTURY MODERN LIGHTING AND HARDWARE
Like no other time in its history, America during the postwar era (1950s – 1960s) optimistically embraced the future and its promise of unlimited possibility. From jet- inspired automobiles to prefab all-steel kitchens, Atomic Age manufacturers sought out the freshest ideas and best methods of producing them. Rejuvenation, long known for its exclusive period-authentic lighting and hardware, is reviving the Atomic Age with its new Satellite line of lighting fixtures and hardware.
"The 1950s saw America's top designers offering a more modern look that emphasized sleek, expressive forms and minimal, lightweight materials – Satellite stays true to these now-classic designs," states Bo Sullivan, Rejuvenation senior designer and historian.
"We take this rich history to heart, scouring the internet and our extensive collection of 1950s and early 1960s trade catalogs to rediscover and reintroduce the coolest lighting and hardware of the era. We're a little bit obsessive," admits Sullivan.
According to Rejuvenation president Alysa Rose, "Many cities across the country experienced tremendous suburban growth in the postwar years. The new Satellite line is the perfect complement to Mid-Century Modern homes created by architects and builders such as Richard Neutra, Cliff May, and Joseph Eichler, as well as for more humble ramblers and ranches."
Satellite Products
Satellite offers many products that suit today's modern sensibilities as well as
yesterday's ranch houses, split levels and other postwar homes. The line includes a
variety of ceiling lights, wall fixtures, lamps and hardware. Examples:
